About Hydrakraft

The ocean covers more than 70% of the Earth's surface, offering a clean and abundant, yet untapped source of energy. Ocean wave power has the potential to cover all of humanity's current electricity consumption — twice, offering islands, coastal regions and industries worldwide a clean, stable and predictable source of everlasting energy. Until now, there has been no solution commercially available to handle the complexity and forces associated with wave energy production. 

 

Hydrakraft will produce and deliver green and cost efficient energy from ocean waves to customers worldwide. The entrepreneurs of the company has developed, tested over two decades and patented the Hydra-WEC technology, thus unlocking the potential of using ocean energy to accelerate the green energy transition.

The founding team consists of inventor and CTO Ingvald Straume, who is one of the most prominent European wave technology experts. Together with CEO Thomas Due and COB Jarle Hølleland, the company was founded on a technical, financial and commercial foundation with the strength to succeed in a market entry phase.
